This page lists every keyboard shortcut registered in Hypertask for Windows/Linux and Mac.

App-shell rail

The App shell surfaces shortcuts 1 through 6 apply only when the app-shell rail is enabled.

Mac board switching

On Mac, switch boards with Ctrl + 0-9, not Cmd + 0-9. Mac browsers reserve Cmd + 1-9 for tab switching.

Mac command palette

On Mac, Ctrl + K opens the command palette in addition to Cmd + K.

Undo behavior

Outside a text editor, undo restores the latest pending task, inbox, star, or pin action while its undo notification is visible. Inside a description, comment, or other editor, the same shortcut keeps its normal text-undo behavior.

Mobile comment composer gesture actions

On mobile devices, the comment composer keeps dictation as the primary input method with simplified controls:

• Dictate first, then refine with the Improve with AI option (opens a focused bottom sheet on mobile)
• Send remains the secondary, accessible action
• The Improve with AI trigger provides inline text enhancement without replacing dictation as the primary entry point

Tip

On mobile, start with dictation and tap Improve with AI to refine your comments without leaving the input flow.

Mobile in-app gestures

• On mobile, a one-finger swipe left or right on a comment opens its quick actions menu with Edit, Delete, Star, and Pin options

Tip

The GIF picker is a picker component you navigate with keyboard. Type / in the comment or description compose box, search for “giphy”, then use arrow keys to move the highlight, Tab to switch 10x10 tabs, and Enter to insert the selected GIF.

Tip

The Command Palette lists board and section actions, including “Hide column”, “Show columns”, “Archive board”, “Delete board”, and more. Use Ctrl+K and type keywords like “hide”, “show”, “archive”, or “delete” to quickly access relevant actions.

Hiding and Showing Columns

To hide a column using the Command Palette:

1. Open the Command Palette: Ctrl + K
2. Type “hide” to find the “Hide column” action
3. Press Enter to hide the active (hovered/last-clicked) column directly
4. The Command Palette closes automatically after execution

To show previously hidden columns:

1. Open the Command Palette: Ctrl + K
2. Type “show” to find the “Show columns” action
3. Press Enter to reveal all hidden sections

Note

“Hide column” now targets the last clicked or currently hovered section rather than cycling through sections, making it easier to hide the specific column you’re working with. The “Empty columns” command also reads the current state and filters both the Kanban view groups and the table view groups, showing “Show empty columns” when they’re hidden and “Hide empty columns” when they’re visible.

Board palette (HTPR-4522)

Press Ctrl + B (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + B (Mac) to show the board palette overlay. On the left rail, the board palette displays your user account row with:

• Email or handle â\x80\x94 Click to open the account switcher dialog
• Avatar â\x80\x94 Click to open Account & Profile settings

This provides quick access to switching workspaces or reviewing your account configuration without leaving the current board.

Tip

The board palette joins Ctrl+K as a non-intrusive way to access workspace settings while staying in context.

Open Latest Updates (HTPR-4813)

Press Ctrl + K (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + K (Mac) then search for “Latest Updates” in the board palette or command palette to open the Latest Updates panel from any route in the app. This provides quick access to see recent activity across your boards without leaving your current view.

Global Alt+Number board shortcuts (HTPR-5126)

Before: On the table view or any board view, Alt + 1-7 shortcuts did nothing even when the app-shell rail was supposed to be active, causing them to behave as no-ops.

After: When the rail is enabled, Alt + 2-7 now correctly switch to their corresponding surfaces (Board = 2, Table = 3, Calendar = 4, AI Chat dock = 5, and Search = 6) from any view. On Mac, the global board switcher uses Ctrl + 2-7 instead of Cmd to avoid interfering with tab switching.

Note

The app-shell rail and global Alt+Number shortcuts were designed to provide tactile, one-hand navigation across main surfaces. Enabling the rail (via account menu or command palette) unlocks these skips so they work reliably everywhere, not only on the rail itself.

Time reports quick-log (HTPR-4329)

Quick-log time directly from the board or a task card using Ctrl + K:

• On a board or task card — Press Ctrl + K to open the quick-log dialog preconfigured for the selected card.
• On an open ticket — Press Ctrl + K to instantly jump to the per-ticket time log modal, skipping the intermediate step of selecting the ticket from the board list.

The quick-log interface supports Hours and Minutes fields, board and user filters per entry, and works across time zones with per-entry local-noon timestamps for accurate log association with the logged day.

Timer shortcuts (HTPR-4414)

Time tracking shortcuts are available when time tracking is enabled for your board or task:

• App shell rail â\x80\x94 Press 7 on the rail to open the running-timers view
• Task detail â\x80\x94 Press Option + T or Alt+T to start or stop the open task timer

The timer indicator appears in the task card and task detail, showing whether a timer is running for that task.

System-theme prediction (HTPR-5422)

When you open the Command Palette with Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on Mac), theme-related options now display context-appropriate labels to make system-theme mode predictable. Retired numeric theme modes (1â\x80\x935) redirect safely to the Appearance settings with your in-session command state preserved.

Tip

Theme options in the command palette now adapt to your system theme and gracefully redirect legacy theme choices to Appearance settings.
