Profile & Settings
Your Profile page in Hypertask is split into three dedicated sections: General, Appearance, and Task page. Each has its own navigation point and can be accessed directly from anywhere in the app via Ctrl+K.
General
Section titled “General”The General tab contains your identity settings:
- Avatar â\x80\x94 Upload or change your profile picture.
- Display name â\x80\x94 The name shown to others in tasks, comments, and activity feeds.
- Email â\x80\x94 Your primary email address; used for notifications and logins.
- Bio (optional) â\x80\x94 A short description shown in your profile card.
Use these fields to manage how you appear across the platform.
Session settings
Section titled “Session settings”Hypertask uses Better Auth server-side authentication with configurable login session duration:
- Session length â\x80\x94 Choose between 7 days and 30 days when signing in. This controls how long your session stays active before requiring re-authentication.
- Persistent sign-in links â\x80\x94 Access a persistent sign-in link that doesn’t expire until used.
- Clean sign-out â\x80\x94 All flows support immediate session invalidation and cookie clearing.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”The Appearance tab controls the visual look of your interface:
- Theme â\x80\x94 Choose between Light, Dark, or System theme (automatically follows your OS preference).
- Font size â\x80\x94 Adjust text size across the app for better readability.
- Reduced motion â\x80\x94 Reduce animations for a calmer environment.
Task Page
Section titled “Task Page”The Task page tab configures behavior specific to how tasks display:
- Show task scroll (on/off) â\x80\x94 When enabled, Hypertask automatically scrolls to the full task description and details when opening a task.
- Subtask depth â\x80\x94 Control how many levels of subtasks are visible by default.
- Expand inline details â\x80\x94 Show fields like due date, assignee, and labels inline on the task card.
These settings apply to the task detail view and the task editor across all boards.
AI Settings
Section titled “AI Settings”The AI Settings tab in the Task page section allows you to configure how the AI assistant behaves across your tasks and comments:
- Custom instructions â\x80\x94 Provide board-level instructions that the AI follows when helping with tasks on that board. Enter your instructions directly into the text box, which fills the page to give you maximum writing space and easy visibility of full context.
These instructions are applied automatically when the AI drafts responses, edits descriptions, or proposes next steps in chat or comments.
User profile caching
Section titled “User profile caching”On authenticated startup, Hypertask reuses a fresh account-scoped user profile cached at the app shell layer. The cached profile remains valid for about 5 minutes, reducing repeated /api/users/getById refetches and improving cold start performance. The cache is automatically invalidated and refreshed as needed.
